Senior Executive/ Executive, Social Media
  1. The Senior Executive/Executive, Social Media is responsible for shaping and executing ERL’s social media strategy and presence to drive brand awareness, engagement, and cultural relevance. This role requires a strong sense of storytelling and a deep understanding of local culture (“jiwa lokal”), ensuring content is culturally relevant, with a strong local sensibility and awareness of global trends.
  2. Working closely with appointed agencies and partners, the role will lead content direction, manage community interactions, analyse performance, and optimise campaigns across platforms to achieve business objectives and KPIs. Practical experience in content and social media execution is beneficial to effectively guide agencies and shape quality output.
  3. Operating within a regulated environment, this role also requires a good appreciation of governance, brand responsibility and compliance in communications.

Strategic Planning

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with ERL's marketing objectives
  2. Create and manage a detailed social media content calendar for all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  3. Build a social media framework that integrates with relevant stakeholders, including Customer Service, while ensuring alignment with internal governance and communication guidelines.

Content marketing

  1. Serve as ERL's brand voice and storyteller, creating engaging and relevant content that resonates with target audiences
  2. Craft compelling copy and visuals for social media posts, campaigns, and promotions to drive engagement and conversations
  3. Ensure consistent brand messaging and tone across all platforms, while adhering to regulatory and corporate communication standards
  4. Manage and define key messaging, creative direction, campaign proposition, and target audience for all ERL social media campaigns and activities
  5. Manage partnership opportunities with social media partners, content creators, and influencers
  6. Provide clear, thoughtful, and insight-driven briefs to agencies and vendors to deliver impactful and relevant campaigns
  7. Stay on top of emerging trends, formats, and conversations, and translate them into content that feels timely, relevant and on-brand 

Community Management for ERL’s social promotions/ campaigns

  1. Manage and respond to community interactions and comments across all social platforms pertaining to ERL’s promotions/ campaigns
  2. Cultivate relationships with Rail community groups, key influencers, and loyal customers for maximum engagement
  3. Drive consistent engagement amongst community members, and encourage brand advocacy

Day-to-day Management

  1. Manage daily social media activities and content scheduling – including content (posts) planning (organic and paid boosting)
  2. Collaborate with CSM on social media inquiries
  3. Leverage key insights and data from brand sentiment tool to create relevant and impactful messaging

Performance Analysis and Reporting

  1. Monitor and analyze social media performance using analytics tools
  2. Deliver reports on social campaign performance and brand sentiment
  3. Optimize campaigns based on data-driven insights

Budget Management

  1. Manage the social media budget, allocating resources effectively for campaigns and paid promotions
  2. Track expenditures and ensure alignment with KPIs

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in social media, content or digital roles with experience in managing agencies/partners
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, content formats and platform behaviours
  • A natural storyteller with a good sense of what resonates with local audiences (“jiwa lokal”)
  • Creative, curious and tuned into what’s happening online (memes, trends, conversations)
  • Strong communication skills across written, visual and short-form video content
  • Good understanding of working within regulated environments, with an appreciation for governance, risk, and brand responsibility (experience in banking, telco, aviation, or similar industries is a plus)
  • Experience in content creation, publishing and community engagement
  • Ability to balance creativity with accountability in a regulated, high-visibility environment
