Assistant Vice President, Revenue & Collection Management

We are seeking a seasoned Revenue Management Manager to lead our revenue collection and reconciliation operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for optimizing our revenue streams, ensuring the accuracy and security of all financial transactions, and driving continuous improvement across our collection systems. This role requires a strong focus on risk management, operational excellence, and team leadership to support the company's financial goals.

  1. Lead and develop the Revenue Collection Management unit, overseeing all aspects of cash and non-cash transactions to achieve revenue collection targets.

  2.  Spearhead the optimization of our Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems and other revenue channels to improve reconciliation processes and enhance operational efficiency.

  3. Strategically manage and mitigate revenue management risks, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.

  4. Oversee the preparation and timely submission of internal and external reports, providing key insights and analysis to senior management to inform business decisions.

  5. Direct the reconciliation of all train revenue streams, including ancillary income from retail and other sources, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

  6. Drive continuous improvement by maintaining and updating the company's internal control framework to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of our financial data.

  7. Working with Finance and non-Finance to support various Group ad hoc requests including business case support, sales initiatives, product development and pricing campaigns.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Revenue Management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Revenue Management, pricing, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Similar experience in airline, e-commerce, banking institution, revenue management or related fields in the travel industry will also be considered.
  • Proficient in revenue management systems (RMS), Excel, and data analysis tools.

The selected candidate must also possess the following capabilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Commitment to stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancement in financial modelling techniques. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance revenue and collection management processes, tools and methodologies to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), SAP and other financial software applications.
  • Risk and Compliance: Expertise in managing the specific risks associated with cashless transactions, such as chargebacks, fraud, and data privacy regulations. Staying current on evolving payment regulations is crucial.
  • Payment Gateway Knowledge: Deep understanding of how various payment gateways and processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, local providers) function, including their fees, and reconciliation processes.
  • An understanding of revenue operations in a complex organisation including an understanding of the challenges, issues, risks and cost drivers impacting financial position.
  • Digital Wallet and E-commerce Platforms: Proficiency in managing transactions from a diverse range of digital wallets and e-commerce platforms. This includes knowledge of their specific reporting tools and reconciliation APIs.
  • API Integration and Data Flow: A solid grasp of how payment data flows from the point of transaction (e.g., a ticket vending machine, a mobile app) through various systems to the central reconciliation system (e.g., SAP). The ability to troubleshoot integration issues is a significant plus.
