Located on the fringe of the city centre inside KL Sentral Station, Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal or KL CAT serves as an extension of Kuala Lumpur International Airport and is officially recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a city destination with the code XKL. 

At KL CAT, you can check in for your flight, just like in an airport, and enjoy free porter service. Regarded as a premium value-added service, passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways and Royal Brunei Airlines are able to check in at KL CAT as early as 12 hours (on departure day) before flight departure time.

The minimum check-in time is 2 hours before flight departure time (1 ½ hours for those on Malaysia Airlines' domestic flights without luggage). Your luggage will be tagged to your destination and automatically transferred to your flight at KLIA. Every piece of luggage is bar-coded for easy tracking, and is integrated with the KLIA baggage handling system.
The check-in service is provided for air travelers who hold valid KLIA Ekspres tickets. You will also find a unique ambience of food and retail outlets as well as travel-related services at KL CAT such as airline ticketing, travel boutiques, hotel desks, banking kiosks, bureau de change and taxis.

KL City Air Terminal is easily accessed by road, and is supported by other public transportation systems such as the PUTRA-LRT, KL Monorail, KTM commuter, KTM Intercity, feeder bus and city taxis.
