Our Business

Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) is a private limited company owned by Malaysia’s foremost companies. YTL Corporation Berhad, Lembaga Tabung Haji, SIPP Rail Sdn Bhd and Trisilco Equity Sdn Bhd own 45%, 36%, 10% and 9% of the shares respectively.

To date, the operations and maintenance are efficiently managed by ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd (E-MAS). Initially a joint venture between Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd and Siemens AG, E-MAS has been wholly-owned by ERL since June 2005. Learn more about E-MAS consultancy work.

since the launch of KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services

What we do

The KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services were launched in 2002. The services were extended to KLIA Terminal 2 when the new terminal for low-cost carriers opened on 2nd May 2014. Cruising at a top speed of 160 km/h, the non-stop 57-km journey on KLIA Ekspres between KL Sentral and KLIA T1 takes only 28 minutes. Passengers can also take a 3-minute ride between KLIA T1 and KLIA T2. The KLIA Transit service stops at three intermediate stations i.e. Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi, with a total journey time of 39 minutes between KL Sentral and KLIA T2.

ERL has consistently maintained its 99.7% on-time service performance record since the service launch.

We are committed to ensuring better management of our resources, material consumption, energy conservation, reduction of pollution and harmful effects to the environment caused by our processes through an approach of continual improvements.

Our operations are in compliance with the country’s Environmental Quality Act 1974. Issues identified to be relevant to our operations include clean air, scheduled wastes, industrial effluents and sewage.
