ERL Offers Year-End Holiday Super-Value Fares on KLIA Ekspres

Family Package at RM75 one-way for 2 Adults & 2 Children

Group Saver Fare at RM25 per person for minimum 3 Adults travelling together

Kuala Lumpur, 1st November 2010: Express Rail Link (ERL) is offering 2 super-value packages for families and friends travelling on KLIA Ekspres during this coming year-end holiday. The special fares are only available online through its ticketing facility at www.KLIAekspres.com and shortly, on www.malaysiaairlines.com.

Chief Executive Officer of ERL, Puan Noormah Mohd Noor, said: “This is the first time we are offering super-value fares on KLIA Ekspres. Our online sales have steadily grown since we launched it two months ago. What better way to reward our loyal customers than offering them a great start to their holiday experience. We also want more new customers to try our train services. The kids would especially love the unique experience riding on South East Asia’s fastest train.”

There are two package types being offered, targeted not just at local air travellers but also tourists visiting Kuala Lumpur. The Family Package is only RM75 one-way for 2 Adults and 2 Children (child age criteria: 2-12 years old), a generous 25% discount from the normal total fares. Those who are travelling together in a group of three or more get to enjoy huge savings with the Group Saver fare of RM25 per person one-way (KLIA Ekspres Standard Single fare is RM35).

Customers can purchase tickets online from 1st November until 31st December 2010 for travel from 17th November 2010 to 2nd January 2011. The e-tickets issued in PDF format are valid for use on the selected travel date only. With this e-ticket, passengers can go directly through the gates by just using the bar code printed on it. Full terms and conditions are available on the website.

Added Puan Noormah: “This promotion caps an excellent year-long 8th Anniversary Celebration for ERL. We achieved a few major milestones this year – bouncing back from the recent economic downturn, we received our 30 millionth passenger in June. In our efforts to further upgrade our products and services, our KLIA Ekspres VIP Service has been expanded to cover residential homes. We launched our own online ticketing facility in September, and we are working with world-class partners, Visa and Malaysia Airlines to further improve our customers’ ticket payment experience. Our subsidiary company, E-MAS, has earlier been contracted by the State Railway of Thailand for operation and maintenance, plus training for drivers for Bangkok's airport express service which opened recently.”

“Next year will be a busy and exciting year for us as we hope to get more partners on board, further improve and develop more innovative services, and promote greater awareness of the train amongst the urban residents as an environmentally friendly transfer option,” Puan Noormah concluded.
