Kuala Lumpur, 03 March 2006: In support for the Eighth Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix 2006 in Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from 17-19 March, Express Rail Link (ERL), the operator of KLIA Express and KLIA Transit high speed train, is offering special transfer packages for F1 fans to the SIC.

Available on the KLIA Transit, these F1 Transfer Packages are priced at a promotional rate of RM100 for the Three-Day Package per person and RM80 for the Race-Day Package per person.   The fare includes a two-way high speed train ride on KLIA Transit plying between KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and a two-way bus shuttle between KLIA and SIC.   

Clearly the best mode of transport to the circuit during F1, Dr Aminduddin Adnan, CEO ERL said at the official announcement of the arrangement with SIC,” Express Rail Link is honoured to be a part of this world renowned event by facilitating the transportation needs of F1 fans.  Dubbed the Fastest Way to the Race, ERL is pleased to offer a hassle-free transfer package which involves transfer on the KLIA Transit train from KL Sentral and a shuttle bus service from the train station right into the Sepang race-track.  All this, in just 60 minutes without the bane of city traffic and looking for a car park.” 

To cater for the anticipated increase in passengers and to provide an even better service than previous years, ERL will be operating more trains and shuttle buses, especially during the peak periods to minimize waiting time at the station and pickup points.   

Dr Aminuddin continued,” We are adding more service, for example, on Race Day after the race, the KLIA Transit will be running with five services an hour instead of four, increasing capacity by 25%.  Similarly, we are also increasing the shuttle buses on Race Day from 35 last year to 45 this year.”
