ERL Supports TR Everest Solo Expedition for Charity 2006

25 March 2006, Kuala Lumpur: Children from nine charity homes and welfare organizations gathered at the KL City Air Terminal (KL CAT) to bid farewell and wishes Mr T Ravichandran all the best as he left on his solo conquest of the summit of Mount Everest, from the North - Tibet side.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony organized by Express Rail Link at KL CAT, Dr Aminuddin Adnan, CEO of ERL, said, “As a high-speed rail operator on a premier route, we feel that aligning ourselves to feats such as this brings to the fore our own commitment towards excellence and exemplary operations.”

Dr Aminuddin added” Our motivation in supporting Mr Ravichandran is firstly because of corporate citizenship and his own motivation towards the less fortunate. Through our support, ERL also hopes to light a spark of encouragement in other Malaysians to achieve limits of excellence that others just dream of."

Thanking ERL for its support, Mr T Ravichandran said,” As a Malaysian, I feel proud to carry the Malaysian flag and I hope to inspire others.”

Later, Dr Aminuddin Adnan handed over the ERL flag while the children handed over the Malaysian flag to Mr T Ravichandran who will place these flags on top of Everest when he reaches the summit.

Following the ceremony, the send-off entourage was ushered to the KLIA high-speed train to accompany Mr T Ravichandran to the departure gate at KLIA.
