04 December 2006, Kuala Lumpur: Express Rail Link (ERL), the operator of the KLIA Ekspres and the KLIA Transit high speed train services, held a celebration today to welcome new partner hotels that will be offering the exclusive KLIA Ekspres VIP Service to their guests. When the KLIA Ekspres commenced operation in April 2002, it quickly established its reputation for speed, reliability, comfort and safety. Looking for ways to improve and upgrade discerning passengers’ travel experience, the KLIA Ekspres VIP Service was thus introduced in August 2004, with one objective: to provide an exclusive service for KLIA Ekspres customers who would like to have a door-to-door hassle-free high speed train & executive limousine transfer between KLIA and their city centre hotel. For only RM100, a passenger arriving in KLIA is: · paged and warmly greeted by our friendly staff upon arrival at the Baggage Reclaim Hall, · assisted with baggage, and escorted all the way onboard the train to KL Sentral by our unique “flying porter” service · transferred in a luxurious Mercedes-Benz or SsangYong Stavic limousine to the hotel (or equivalent vehicle). Speaking at the celebration, ERL Chief Executive Officer Dr Aminuddin Adnan said, “From its humble start of about 300 passengers a month, the KLIA Ekspres VIP Service has now been registering over 1,000 bookings per month. From our records, many of these are repeat customers. Clearly they are happy with the service and have become our loyal customers.” He continued, “As Malaysia welcomes the world during Visit Malaysia Year 2007, ERL hopes to create an impressive touch point when visitors disembark from the aircraft. We aim to offer the KLIA Ekspres VIP Service as a service that rivals the best in this region, if not the world. And when we have done our part, we will pass these visitors on to our partner hotels for more pampering.” The new partner hotels that will be offering the KLIA Ekspres VIP Service for their guests are: The Westin Kuala Lumpur, The Regent Kuala Lumpur, Park Royal Kuala Lumpur and Impiana Hotel. The JW Marriott & The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur were founding partner hotels when this service first started in 2004. Dato Seri Bashir Ahmad,
Managing Director of Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad, was the guest of
honour for the event. |
